The Vintage Skirt

This is the skirt I bought at Flounce Vintage in Los Angeles.

Newly hemmed and washed. I wore it to work, with a cardigan, but it was warm enough out to wear it without a sweater to run errands after work and grab some Thai food.

The skirt is such a lot of fun to wear, it's light and just the right amount of girly. It made such a difference to have it hemmed, before it looked like something you may have seen on the set of Big Love.

I love this top. It's one of the first vintage pieces I altered, and by altered I mean changed the buttons. Before it had these kind of ugly shiney yellow buttons, I added these white fabric covered ones.

The skirt and top are vintage finds. The Belt is Rachel Comey, Shoes are Charlotte Ronson and the sunnies are the same old Cheap Mondays.

  1. That is such a great outfit! Seriously, I oscillated for a minute before I posted about whether or not I should compliment the skirt, the belt of the top. It's all so cute!

Also, I cam across this article on eco-fashion (or lack thereof) today and thought of your previous posts on the issue: http://jezebel.com/5560342/putting-an-end-to-fast-fashion-in-your-wardrobe?skyline=true&s=i

  9. That is my dream shirt! Really, where do you find this stuff? I might bite the bullet and visit a vintage shop (usually I am a strict thrift gal) and plunk down the $$ for a real vintage blouse. Yours would be the inspiration...

  10. Hi ladies : ) Thank you for your comments. I am really happy with this skirt. And the top was a find from a year ago. I don't often find stuff when I am at vintage shops since I'm very picky - but when I do I get my greedy little hands on a great piece I don't let go!

The trick is to go to vintage shops away from the big city - I know I didn't do that in LA, but that was a special trip : )
