Well, I haven't officially made the plans yet, but I'm intending to spend a long weekend in Newport, RI. I have a friend who's taken up a summer residence there, and I've yet to visit. I want some nice beachy days and mojito filled evenings.
ReplyDeletePlease don't remind me July is more than half over. I need to get on this.

Woohoo! My summer reading list has included "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett, and lots and lots of YA novels in preparation for teaching.
ReplyDeleteWe've already taken our major trip this summer (to Vermont), so now I'm just in "prepare to go back to work mode," freezing meals and planning. Not much fun :(
My summer vacation plans have already come and gone :( My good friend from the UK visited and we went to our best friend's wedding in NY. I also stayed a few days at the Cape. Now its working my butt off for the next several months!

Sound the klaxon of excitment - WOOP WOOP! - because I'm off to Belarus for a week this summer. Most people I've told look at me politely yet quizzically, and so I explain that it's in eastern Europe, bordering Russia and Ukraine. It's going to be a very different experience, but that's what I love about travelling. Plus my boyfriend speaks Russian, which will obviously help. Yay!!
