Aesthetics

I feel that more and more I am coming to like 'edgier' more structured/architectural clothing designs over girly buttoned up vintage things. I wonder what this means, is it a phase? A next stage in wardrobe choices?

I'm not about to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe, but I am going to try to work with what I've got to create new outfit shapes.

Here are some designs/ looks I'm using for inspiration from Acne and Anzevino and Florence...

Mostly, I've been pairing skinny jeans with tunic tops, but I may try to layer some tops and dresses and maybe do some creative pinning to a few items.

I'll try to come up with something fun, as I am going out shopping (to help someone find a holiday dress) this weekend, and the hubs and I have movie plans and a brunch date. So, I'll have a few things to dress up for.

What do you have planned this last weekend before Christmas?

  1. I know what you mean - I'm trying to change the way I dress to be more edgy because I want to command a bit more respect. It's hard to do that when you're wearing a floral tea dress! For edgy style inspiration, I love Michelle of Kingdom of Style.

  2. This is my one of my favorite styles as well, at least to look at. I fear that I lack the sophistication to pull it off well (plus, I am a silly person). I am curious to see how your new inpsirations influence your outfit choices.
I am working, meeting friends, having a pizza party date with Blokey, working some more. Enjoy your weekend!

@ Rad - A pizza fiesta date sounds like a good plan especially for a cold night.
