Challenge Outfit: 3 Sunday, Sunday, Sunday

Okay 3 outfits down 9 more to go. This is not going to be easy. I am not at all crazy about outfit number three. I can't really remember what possessed me to get these shorts. I mean I love the plaid, but I am not comfortable wearing shorts. I don't think I've ever been a shorts person. I thought I could wear them with tights, but the weather is turning so that may not be an option

Here is outfit 3...

Today was a pretty busy day too- we had grocery shopping to do and a Target run. And, today was the release of the Liberty for Target collection. I have not been a fan of the Go Target/other Target fashion collabs. The only one I liked was the Erin Fetherstone collection and even then I only purchased one item. Why? It's not that the designs are bad- it's the material. I am really picky about fabric- I rarely do poly or acrylic. I'm a cotton/wool person all the way.

So, while I was most excited about grabbing up some housewares because we need dishes for our little kitchen (Target was all sold out!) I was surprised that I actually liked some of the clothing items. I snapped a up a few- two of which were items from the girl's department. For some reason the girl's dresses were cotton, while the women's were poly. Also, all the smalls, extra smalls, and mediums in women's were sold out. But I'm just shrimpy enough to pull off the kids dresses- which I think will be perfect for hot summer days and for going to the beach.

The dress I got in the women's department (the peacock print) I am not sure if I will keep. It is a little bit too long. Mario is not a good influence when shopping because he told me for the price just to get it- if anything I could always list it on ebay since all the smalls are sold out. I may just do that. Though I'm also thinking of shortening it to a top, which I could wear with jeans and a blazer to work. We'll see.

On our grocery stop - I spotted this

It was an Ikea/ReadyMade Kitchen pod. I wanted to snap more pictures but I got shy because there was a guy sitting inside looking pretty officious. But it reminded me of these:

It would be pretty cool to live in an eco-friendly pod house out in the woods. If, we ever move to Washington state this may be just the thing to do.

  1. Ooooh man. The internet makes me want things. I had no idea Liberty was doing a Target collection and now I want a dress so badly!

  3. I am so not a shorts person either, and then I went and just got a pair. I'm such a weirdo! But I keep seeing people wearing them and looking adorable - like you - and I was feeling like I wanted some.

I know just how you feel about these designer collections. You are paying for a name, not quality! And people go crazy and buying out stores so they can try to make a profit on ebay and it's just gross.

However I do think the turquoise and yellow printed dress is adorable!

ps. there is an award for you at my blog!

  4. Your shorts outfit is adorable! I love the pairing of the black and white with the brown belt. Very chic but down to earth. I'm awaiting the big check black and white shirt from jcrew and now I'm inspired to try a similar color-combo.
