Big Shoes to Fill

With the onslaught of 70's inspired looks for spring, last year's clogs have come around again - only this time they've brought friends. Friends that I'm not so sure I like - friends that I'm not sure clogs should be hanging out with. Clogs are good 'earthy' shoes - though I'll admit we didn't always get along. I've grown to be a 'clogs' kinda gal. Platforms and super duper high 70's wedges are another thing altogether.

Personally, I think it just looks awkward. Ok, I'm being polite it's pretty much the next worst thing to a 70's polyester, patched denim, Incredible Hulk nightmare (yes, I've had Lou Ferrigno nightmares). But, I'd like to know what you think. Will you be sporting platforms this spring?

Well at least some people will be wearing them - the 'rainbow' shoes are sold out at Solestruck.com.

  1. Well, they make me think of rainbow bright, which is nice, in a way. But I wouldn't wear them. Haha.

  3. I like how they look on other people, but whenever I tried them on, they looked awkward on me. I think it was because I wasn't comfortable in it and it showed. but eek, that rainbow one is a no-no for me for sure.

  4. I like a good heeled clog and the only pair I own have a bit of a platform on them (http://www.flickr.com/photos/futurelint/5366595603/in/set-72157607523357852/) if you want to see them. But these two are ridiculous! Too much! Much too much!

  5. @Futurelint. I like yours : ) They are a bit more understated than some of the other platforms I've seen around. : )

  7. I kind of love those rainbow ones...i'd never actually wear them though! I thought i'd love some proper 70s platforms...but i bought some at a flea market the other week and i'm so rubbish at wearing heels i can't even walk around the house in them (let alone outside on the crazy uneven London pavements!) x

  8. @Kathy - : ) I have to smile at that - I have many a memory of trying to wear heels in London - unsuccessfully.
